Let’s Try BubbleGuru.com Again

The last time I tested BubbleGuru.com was in May of 2007 on ActiveRain. “If You Can’t Be A Real Guru, Be A Bubble Guru” generated some interesting conversation, but I had to take it down almost as quickly as I had put it up. My message then:

Jeff Turner on BubbleGuru.com“I HAVE TAKEN THIS OFF, SINCE IT APPEARS TO BE CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH SOME ON INTERNET EXPLORER 7. IT WORKS FINE WITH FIREFOX. AS FAR AS I’M CONCERNED THIS IS JUST ONE OF MANY REASONS TO STOP USING IE7. I HAVE SENT SUPPORT MESSAGES TO THE GURU’S AT BUBBLE GURU AND I’LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT COMES FROM IT. YOU’LL KNOW IF THEY’VE MADE A CHANGE BECAUSE MY FACE WILL POP UP AGAIN! “

I have put it up here and on ActiveRain again. If you experience any problem with this, please let me know.

It worked. But it seems a little insane. If you overran you blog with bubbles, you might have to call it TechBloInSanity.

A talking bubble - personified to the likes of your face & voice - starting talking to me! We had a nice, bubbly chat. Silliness aside, it’s a fun touch! I would highly consider buying a home from a real estate agent who used such a quirky yet fun feature. :)

Tom… luckily, it should only pop up the first time you visit. :) I’d see it used as a welcome greeting… if at all.

Jill… it’s a quirky little tool, that’s for sure.

Jeff - works fine for me with IE7. Works on AR also but I agree, you probably don’t want to use it there as it keeps repeating.

Testing The CommentLuv plugin.

LOL…Sorry man.

I love listening to and watching your tutorials, but this bubble thing that follows you down the page is just a little creepy.

Kind of like that odd feeling you get sometimes that your being watched.

:), we’ll let’s see what others have to say. It has limited utility, as far as I’m concerned. Perhaps if I updated it more often and the information was even remotely timely it might help.

Wah! I’m at work! I was fumbling like mad for my volume button!

Your bubble thingy almost got me busted for surfing!

It is kind of cool, though. But it boils down to having music start playing unexpectedly.

And I couldn’t find the “bubble guru post” so I had to Google it. Then the bubble popped up every time I pulled up a new page from your site, so I got to hear it a couple of times. I’m using Firefox 2.00.14 for Mac.

Bonnie… I think the lesson here is to turn down your sound before you start surfing at work. :)

Jeff - This is pretty cool:)! However, your image or your video setting is a bit dark. - Owen

Jeff,
Who doesn’t love the opportunity to see your mug on the web? Whether in a bubble or a box, we love to see you.
I like it!
Dale

I want that bubble…where do you get one?
I am on a thing called helloworld. I got the great logitec camera…and now just to use it well…

Where does the bubble come from?

I love the bubble, the only thing I would change is the lighting in your work area. It is always so dark in your bubble, makes me think you work in a cave. It’s a little sad. :)

I like people thinking I might work in a cave…. kinda like Batman! :)
